Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery Recovery Time

Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery Recovery TimeFat Transfer Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery Recovery TimeIn recent years, fat transfer breast augmentation has emerged as an increasingly sought-after cosmetic surgery procedure. One of the benefits of this procedure, apart from more refined aesthetics, is the relatively smooth and easy recovery involved in it. During the initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss all aspects of the procedure with the patient, including the recovery.

Dr. Amir Nasir is a golden board certified plastic surgeon providing state of the art procedures, including fat transfer breast augmentation. Dr. Nasir will educate the patient about the procedure and help her make a well-considered choice. He provides fat transfer breast augmentation to patients in New Haven, Westport, CT, and surrounding locations across the landscape.

Faster Recovery with PureGraft Technique

Dr. Nasir using the cutting edge PureGraft technique to harvest, treat, and transfer fat from donor sites to the breasts. This advanced process involves no exposure to air, which allows for better survival of the transferred fat. Results are more substantive and artistic due to enhanced ability of fat transfer.

The procedure becomes less invasive and recovery becomes faster with this technique. Fat is removed from the donor areas using low vacuum procedure with atraumatic cannulae. The PureGraft process ensures optimal fat preservation, which means more fat can be used with less fat extraction.

Donor fat is then transferred into the recipient bed with minimal trauma due to the tiny size of the cannula and the gentle pressure system applied in PureGraft. The gentle technique minimizes bleeding risks. The surgeon will ensure the patient receives pre- and post-operative antibiotic coverage to reduce the risk of infection.

All these elements in the PureGraft fat transfer breast augmentation plastic surgery result in a safer, faster and more predictable recovery.

Recovery Timeline

Fat transfer breast augmentation procedure is performed using only local anesthesia with oral sedation. This not only avoids the risks of general anesthesia, but also mitigates post-op discomfort, nausea and other temporary effects associated with general anesthesia.

Most patients will return home the same day after the surgery. Mild soreness in the treated areas may be experienced in the first two or three days, which can be addressed with prescription pain meds. Patients should note that recovery in case of fat transfer breast augmentation will involve multiple sites because both donor and recipient areas are needed.

Patients can usually resume their lower body exercises in 48 hours after the surgery. But upper body workouts should be avoided for about two weeks. The patient can shower in 24 hours. The surgeon will instruct her to wear a support bra for two weeks in order to promote healing. A compression garment will also have to be worn at the donor site, which could be biker shorts or an abdominal binder, depending on the specific site involved.

The surgeon will review the status of the breast volume after three months. Post-op swelling will remit in about four to five days, but the contour enhancement in the breasts will fully establish in about three months. Experienced and judicious cosmetic surgeon Dr. Nasir receives patients from New Haven, Westport, CT, and nearby areas.
